Nathan Kuncel, PhD, professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota, endorses the idea of using behaviorally anchored ratings to help reduce bias and get more useful information from references about applicants. These ratings help answer behavioral questions such as, “Does the student participate a lot in class?”
