Congratulations to
Sylia Wilson, PhD, assistant professor, and McKnight Land-Grant Professor in the Institute of Child Development, for receiving a grant of $6 million for the first five years of her and her team’s study,
HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD).
The study establishes UMN as one of 25 data collection sites and will focus on substance use and other risk and protective factors during and after pregnancy. Wilson shares that this is a “landmark study” that will yield insights into brain development and factors promoting adaptive development in the first years of life.
