O'Neill Receives Award to Present Research at American Auditory Society Conference

Erin O’Neill, PhD candidate in the Department of Psychology and member of the Auditory Perception and Cognition (APC) Lab, received a mentored poster award from the American Auditory Society(AAS).

O'Neill will present her research at the Annual Scientific and Technology Conference of the American Auditory Society, March 5-7 in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The poster presentation is titled "Role of Semantic Context, Cognitive Factors, and Talker Variability in Speech Perception of Cochlear-Implant Users and Normal-Hearing Listeners."

The Mentored Student Awards ($1000) are open to doctoral students conducting research.  These travel awards are provided by the American Auditory Society through funding from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD).
